If Pine Remote cannot find your Mac

In some cases, Wi-Fi routers with stringent security settings may restrict broadcasting and UDP packet transmission to multiple devices, even within the internal network.

As a result, the discovery feature in the iOS Pine Remote app might not work as expected when searching for your Mac.

Don’t worry if this happens—you can quickly troubleshoot with the following steps.

First, launch Pine Player on your Mac, and make sure your iOS device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.

You can check the network name in the settings menu under the network section to verify that both devices are on the same access point.

If a warning popup still appears in Pine Remote saying it cannot find your Mac, try entering your Mac’s IP address manually in the text input box at the top of the list, as shown in the image.

You can find your Mac’s IP address in the Pine Player settings screen, as shown in the illustration.

Once you enter the IP address, it will be saved, so next time, simply go to the connection tab and check to reconnect with the remote feature.
